Accounting Manager


A growing, privately held, family-owned organization is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead and strengthen its finance and people operations. This newly created role will oversee core accounting functions while also supporting HR-related activities, partnering closely with ownership and senior leadership.


The Accounting Manager will supervise a small team and play a key role in enhancing financial processes, improving reporting visibility, and supporting the company’s continued growth. This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who enjoys building structure, working cross-functionally, and contributing to a mission-driven organization focused on women’s health.


This Accounting Manager position is ideal for a motivated accounting professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is eager to make a meaningful impact.


Salary: Approximately $110,000 – $120,000 + profit sharing / retirement contributions




Key Responsibilities of the Accounting Manager



  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including AP, AR, and general ledger activities

  • Manage the month-end close process, reconciliations, and financial reporting

  • Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis efforts

  • Develop and track KPIs to support business performance and decision-making

  • Partner with ownership and leadership on financial planning and strategy

  • Supervise and mentor a small accounting team (AP, AR, billing)

  • Support payroll processing and assist with HR functions such as benefits administration, employee relations, and recruiting coordination

  • Collaborate with external auditors and advisors

  • Identify and implement process improvements and scalable systems




Qualifications for the Accounting Manager



  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

  • 10+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, preferably within manufacturing

  • Prior supervisory or team leadership experience required

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and accrual-based accounting

  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting

  • Hands-on experience with full-cycle accounting (AP, AR, close)

  • Exposure to HR-related responsibilities (payroll, benefits, employee relations) is a plus

  • CPA designation preferred but not required

  • Experience working in a small or growing business environment strongly preferred

  • Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills
