Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and month-end close


• Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements for leadership and Board review


• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis aligned with organizational goals


• Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards, including grant tracking and fund accounting


• Manage annual audit process and serve as primary liaison with external auditors


• Monitor cash flow, financial health, and internal controls to ensure fiscal responsibility


• Oversee grant reporting and compliance with donor and funding requirements


• Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and process improvements


• Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and accountable team environment

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field


• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibility


• Prior nonprofit accounting experience required (fund accounting and grant management)


• Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit financial reporting standards


• Experience managing audits and working with external auditors


• Proficiency with accounting systems and advanced Excel skills


• Strong communication skills with the ability to present financials to non-financial stakeholders


• CPA or CPA-eligible preferred
