Key Responsibilities
Oversee all accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and month-end close
Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements for leadership and Board review
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis aligned with organizational goals
Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards, including grant tracking and fund accounting
Manage annual audit process and serve as primary liaison with external auditors
Monitor cash flow, financial health, and internal controls to ensure fiscal responsibility
Oversee grant reporting and compliance with donor and funding requirements
Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and process improvements
Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and accountable team environment
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibility
Prior nonprofit accounting experience required (fund accounting and grant management)
Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit financial reporting standards
Experience managing audits and working with external auditors
Proficiency with accounting systems and advanced Excel skills
Strong communication skills with the ability to present financials to non-financial stakeholders
CPA or CPA-eligible preferred
