Job Title
Under general direction, provides guidance and leadership in the Fitness Center to all members and guests; develops and monitors strength training programs; maintains and cleans equipment on a daily basis.

Develops and implements strength training programs for members of the facility.
Utilizes resources of information to enhance members understanding of fitness and healthy habits.
Develops and maintains professional relationships with members.
Administers facility and equipment orientations to members, as scheduled.
Assists with member retention as needed.
Maintains and cleans equipment and facility.
Attends regular meetings with staff and supervisor.
Performs other related duties as required.
Typical Qualifications
Knowledge of:
Personal computers and related software.
Office methods and procedures.
English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
Record keeping principles and procedures.
Skill and Ability to:
Operate a variety of office equipment including personal computer and related software.
Understand and follow verbal and written direction.
Deal with the public in person or on the telephone.
Training and Experience:
Educational background in physical education and previous experience with weight training helpful.
Supplemental Information
Requires vision (which may be corrected) to read small print.
Requires mobility of arms to reach and dexterity of hands to grasp and manipulate small objects.
Lower body mobility may not be required.
Performs lifting, pushing and/or pulling which does not exceed 50 pounds and is an infrequent aspect of the job.
Subject to inside environmental conditions.
May be required to work at a video display terminal for prolonged periods.
This position is a temporary position and not eligible to participate in any benefit programs of the City, except those mandated by federal or state law. Must participate in a PARS Alternative Retirement System 457 Plan as a replacement for Social Security.
