Certified Nursing Assistant - CNA

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides high-quality, compassionate, and efficient patient care under the direction and supervision of licensed nursing staff. In alignment with Oregon's updated 2025 CNA certification standards, the CNA performs a comprehensive range of clinical, clerical, and support functions that promote patient health, safety, and dignity. All CNA tasks are carried out under the direction of a Registered Nurse, who provides guidance and oversight to ensure safe and appropriate care delivery. Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, collecting objective data, supporting therapeutic interventions, maintaining accurate documentation, coordinating unit activities, and ensuring a safe, clean, and organized environment.
Skills and abilities include the ability to organize and prioritize work effectively, the ability to work collaboratively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams, a strong understanding of cultural sensitivity and developmental stages of care, proficiency in basic computer use and electronic documentation, familiarity with medical terminology preferred, the ability to follow verbal and written instructions with attention to detail, and the demonstration of reliability, professionalism, and punctuality.
Education/certifications/licenses/degrees required include a high school diploma or equivalent, current, valid Oregon CNA certification (per the 2025 unified certification requirements), and American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Experience preferred includes previous CNA experience in a hospital or acute care setting, strong customer service, interpersonal, observational, and communication skills.
Physical/mental/environmental requirements include the ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, bend, squat, reach, and stretch, may be required to lift up to 50 pounds, requires manual dexterity and effective hand-eye coordination, must communicate clearly and effectively in English via reading, writing, and speaking, regular exposure to body fluids and standard precautions required, and requires use of personal computers and electronic health records system.
