Vehicle Integration Engineer

Ford Motor Company, Dearborn, MI, United States

In this position...

Ford Racing Vehicle Integration Engineer - This role is for a Lead Vehicle Engineering (VE) Developer within Ford Racing, responsible for driving the development and launch of future high-performance products. You will serve as a critical bridge between technical engineering requirements and the delivery of "insanely great" customer experiences.

What You'll Do...

Lead the translation of customer insights into a balanced set of vehicle-level requirements that deliver "emotional delights" and unmatched performance.

Cascade high-level vehicle targets into objective, measurable system-level requirements for engineering and validation (spanning hardware, software, and energy management).

Lead highly cross-functional technical trade-off discussions across design, software, and hardware teams to ensure engineering realities do not compromise the final customer experience.

Validate the final vehicle from initial prototypes through to final production, sustaining a validation mindset across all updates and vehicle variants.

Lead all aspects of Race Track and Off-Road Durability testing, managing resource planning, budgets, logistics, and safety to ensure highly efficient and pulse-positive events.

Assess and ensure all test vehicles are "fit for test" regarding hardware and software maturity prior to delivery.

Execute flawless, behind-the-scenes vehicle preparation and assessment for high-stakes Media events, ensuring automotive journalists experience a perfect product.

Serve as the "Go-To" resource for the Vehicle Engineering team, removing roadblocks so development engineers can focus purely on engineering.

Optimize test scheduling, condense testing timelines, and ensure high accuracy in test planning systems (e.g., FEDE) to maximize vehicle utilization and avoid unnecessary travel.

Deliver all program milestones and engineering gateways on time, with quality, while actively improving Vehicle Engineering Design Validation efficiency.

Lead the management of program documents, test vehicle status tracking, and online systems.

You'll Have...

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent technical degree.

Ability and willingness to work fully on-site at the Roush 57 facility nearly every weekday.

Proven ability to lead and facilitate cross-functional teams to solve complex problems efficiently while building strong relationships.

Even Better, You May Have...

Experience: 5+ years of Vehicle-Level Automotive Product Development experience across a wide range of attributes.

Proven track record of delivering complete automotive product development cycles from initial concept through to launch.

Experience with modern software development processes, Over-The-Air (OTA) updates, and feature delivery alongside traditional mechanical systems.

A clear, practical understanding of Performance Vehicle customers, their passions, pain points, needs, and priorities, backed by an understanding of customer insight tools.

Personal affirmation as an "early tech adopter" with outstanding self-motivation and initiative.
