with a starting hourly wage of $20, pay time-and-a-half for overtime, and pay based on skills and experience. Positions begin in early May and last until mid-August, working up to 40 hours (or more) per week, including many weekends.
Overview
Responsible for the quick and efficient turnover (make ready) of residential rental units within the allocated time, with the highest quality, most complete and accurate work, and 100% new tenant satisfaction. Maintain the physical condition of the property according to company standards of excellence, repair items as noted on inspection reports and checklists, assist maintenance technicians with work as assigned.
Essential Functions
General maintenance repairs including light plumbing, electrical and appliance work.
Minor spackling and caulking repairs to interior walls.
Removal and replacement of caulking at tubs, showers and floors.
Other miscellaneous repairs and maintenance needs determined by unit inspections and work orders.
Complete assigned paperwork in both paper and digital formats, with proper notes and material use records.
Stay compliant with all safety policies and procedures.
Maintain polite and professional customer service and co-worker relationships.
Extended work hours, including many weekends, are expected as the turnover schedule dictates.
Work Environment
Occasionally outdoors in all weather conditions.
Exposure to paint fumes, solvents, adhesives, etc., during and after make‑ready.
Frequent need (33% to 66% of the time) to work in awkward and confining positions.
Requirement for reliable personal transportation for daily travel to and from assigned work locations, including carrying inventory and tools.
Travel generally limited to within 10 miles of metropolitan Charlottesville; mileage reimbursable with proper tracking documentation.
Must have a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance coverage.
Required Education And Experience
High School/Technical School/GED with general skills acquired through routine home maintenance work.
