Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Manufacturing Operator IV operates machine(s) as defined in the Machine Operator Manual and follows all safety procedures. Perform simple changeover and setup. Load supplies and make adjustments to semi-automated machine(s). Ensure the machine works properly, use the correct materials for the product, and keep the equipment running. Demonstrate a detailed understanding of the quality requirements for the products being produced and adjust as necessary to achieve maximum quality. Troubleshoot equipment and seek assistance from a trained mechanic when needed. Communicate equipment problems clearly to the mechanic and ask questions as necessary. Report any problem with equipment or supplies to the supervisor or team leader. These positions have a direct effect on the quality of our products. This role may be used as a training prerequisite for a higher-level Machine Operator position.
Equipment typically operated by Machine Operator IV level employees includes:
Auto Cartoner
Brite Stacker
Rack Oven
Additional duties include:
Set up equipment at the beginning and during the shift
Bring supplies to the area and ensure correct supplies are used
Effectively troubleshoot equipment
Know terminology and components of all areas of equipment
Document operations by completing all required forms
When machine issues arise, call the mechanic and explain the problem
Ensure product is sealed and has the correct code (if applicable)
Change packaging materials to avoid downtime and identify sub-standard materials
Operate machine in a safe manner
Communicate any machine or process problems to the supervisor/team leader in a timely manner
Maintain area cleanliness and perform general housekeeping to ensure a clean and safe work environment
Work well in a team-oriented atmosphere
Comply with Amy’s policies
Perform other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
Must have at least 6 months of Amy’s experience or demonstrated previous machine operator experience.
Language Skills
Able to read simple instructions
Able to complete simple forms
Able to verbally communicate with supervisor
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers
Reasoning Ability
Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions
Ability to deal with problems involving a few variables in standardized situations
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand for extended periods, perform manual dexterity activities and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
