Seasonal Parks Maintenance

The Seasonal Parks Maintenance is a seasonal summer position and is available temporarily. The position is scheduled on a 40-hour week which includes weekends. This position picks up refuse, trims bushes & shrubs, maintains landscape and assists the full-time horticulturist in various tasks as needed. This summer position may sub for other tasks such as maintaining and grooming athletic fields, repairing park equipment, and repairing signage.
Compensation: $16 an hour (DOE)
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Remove all refuse and trash from parks and playgrounds. Recycle materials as appropriate according to disposal company directions.
Maintain natural areas, flower beds, landscape, trees & shrubs.
Assist in planting annuals and perennial flowers, trees & shrubs, cutting tree rings, and installing mulch around trees and flower beds.
Provide flower, tree, and shrub care in parks and facilities including watering annual & perennial plantings, pruning trees, removal of dead and/or broken branches, and chipping limbs for disposal.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
18 years of age or older.
Holds a valid driver's license with the ability to successfully pass a driver's abstract review.
Ability to drive company vehicles.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous Park Maintenance experience.
Environmental & Physical Demands
Employee will be required to work inside and outside during various environmental conditions, such as, but not limited to rain, mud, and heat, sun, dust, dirt, and noise exposure.
Employee must have the physical agility to maintain mobility from site to site and be able to perform heavy manual tasks. (e.g lifting 50lbs)
Employees may perform duties which include, not limited to repetitive lifting, stooping, walking, bending, twisting, and climbing for an extended period.
