Maintenance Worker

Summary Maintenance Worker, under the general supervision of the Foreman, performs maintenance of park landscaping and general park maintenance.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Assists the Horticulture Crew Lead in the proper maintenance of landscaped areas
Inspects, repairs, and maintains playground fixtures, signage, pavilions, trash cans and other park amenities
Occasionally sprays herbicides or applies fertilizer under direct supervision of a licensed applicator
Assists with preparation of special events to include set-up, staging, and clean-up
Performs and documents regular vehicle and equipment inspections
Completes and submits required paperwork in Maint Trac
Follows City policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
One (1) year of experience in landscaping, horticulture, or related field
Preferred qualifications:
Two (2) years of experience in landscape/horticulture field
Prior experience operating basic landscaping equipment including truck, trailer, pruning and power equipment
Licenses and certifications:
Valid driver's license
