Summer (Seasonal) Maintenance Worker
Performs a variety of building and grounds maintenance work in school and administrative buildings by maintaining assigned work areas including kitchens, cafeterias, classrooms, bathrooms, offices, and other workrooms within the school and the building's exterior and grounds. Performs preventative maintenance and ongoing repairs not handled by skilled trades. Electrical/plumbing skills preferred.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Preferably two to three years of related maintenance experience.
Ability to read and comprehend safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to communicate effectively with students, school administrators and staff.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to get tasks done in a timely manner
Able to assume responsibility with a minimum of direct supervision
Ability to effectively use basic computer software applications
Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to be physically active and able to bend, crawl, squat, stoop and walk; reach with hands and arms overhead; lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
