The position of Assistant Vice Chancellor for Individual Giving, Schools and Centers involves leading the fundraising strategy and execution for all undergraduate, graduate, and professional schools under the purview of the Provost. The role reports to the Vice Chancellor for Individual Giving, Schools and Centers and is central to university development efforts. This leadership position is responsible for building organizational capacity to enhance fundraising and alumni engagement, serving as the main advancement liaison to four regional campuses, and developing strategies to secure significant and complex gifts. Additionally, the role involves partnering with deans, regional campus presidents, and senior leaders to ensure fundraising priorities align with institutional goals, enhancing alumni engagement, and cultivating relationships with key donors and stakeholders. Key responsibilities of this role include maintaining an active portfolio of major gift prospects, leading, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams, and supporting school-based development directors. The Assistant Vice Chancellor is also tasked with managing staff performance, overseeing the creation and implementation of annual and multi-year fundraising plans, and ensuring alignment with university-wide advancement objectives. Effective leadership and communication skills are essential as the role requires balancing multiple priorities with significant autonomy while coordinating efforts across advancement units, academic leadership, and regional campuses. The position maintains a robust travel schedule to engage with donors and regional stakeholders and participates in evening and weekend activities that support advancement and alumni engagement.
