Environmental Health Safety Specialist (Buffalo)

Position Summary
Mural Group is partnering with a leading specialty metals manufacturer known for producing high-performance stainless and alloy products for critical industrial applications to hire an EHS Specialist. This role will support and enhance environmental, health, and safety programs within a dynamic manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, leading safety initiatives, and helping build a culture where safety is embedded into daily operations. This is a highly visible role that works cross-functionally with operations and leadership to proactively identify risks, drive accountability, and continuously improve workplace safety performance.

Key Responsibilities
Implement and maintain environmental, health, and safety programs in alignment with regulatory standards
Conduct safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments across the facility
Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation
Track and report key EHS metrics and ensure accurate documentation of all safety activities
Deliver safety training programs and ensure employee compliance with safety procedures
Maintain OSHA compliance, including recordkeeping and reporting requirements
Support environmental compliance efforts, including waste management and sustainability initiatives
Partner with operations and maintenance teams to identify and mitigate workplace hazards
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce incidents and improve safety performance
Ensure proper use of PPE and adherence to safety protocols across all departments

Required Qualifications
2+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards
Experience conducting incident investigations and safety audits
Excellent communication and training facilitation skills
Strong attention to detail and documentation discipline
Ability to influence and engage employees at all levels

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety or related field
Experience in high-speed manufacturing or production environments
Knowledge of environmental compliance standards (EPA, waste management, etc.)
EHS-related certifications (e.g., OSHA, ASP, CSP)
