Chartwells Higher Education is seeking a

Operations Finance Manager

to support one of our dynamic, multi-faceted client locations at

Binghamton University . This role is primarily responsible for

all accounting, finance, and control functions for Retail Dining operations

at the account.

The ideal candidate is a

savvy business professional

who thrives in a fast-paced environment, brings strong analytical skills, and excels at building collaborative relationships across operations, culinary, and leadership teams. If you enjoy owning the numbers, driving financial insight, and supporting operational success, this role offers both challenge and impact.

Key Responsibilities

As Operations Finance Manager, you will serve as the financial steward for the retail dining operation, with responsibilities including, but not limited to:

Oversee

all cash handling procedures , ensuring adherence to company and client policies
Perform detailed

reconciliation and analysis of multiple balance sheet accounts
Analyze financial results for

internal leadership and external stakeholders
Track, maintain, and interpret

monthly P&L and balance sheet activity
Develop

budgets and forecasts , proactively identifying financial risks and opportunities
Review and ensure accuracy of the

general ledger and balance sheet
Resolve accounting, variance, and reconciliation issues in a timely manner
Prepare and distribute

monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports , including:

Monthly and fiscal closes
Internal and external audit support
Management reporting

Maintain effective

inventory management and cost control procedures
Administer

payroll and Human Resources-related financial processes
Participate in special projects and perform additional related duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in

Accounting

preferred, or equivalent professional experience
5+ years

of experience in revenue control, financial reporting, and cash handling

At least

3 years in a comparable controller or senior accounting role

Foodservice or retail accounting experience required

Foodservice operations experience strongly preferred

Demonstrated experience with

sales analysis and reporting
Strong ability to plan, organize, and control complex financial processes
Proven skill in analyzing moderately complex financial data and trends
Excellent

verbal and written communication

skills
Ability to manage

multiple priorities and cross-functional relationships
Advanced proficiency in

Microsoft Office , with a strong focus on

Excel

POS system experience is a plus

Highly developed

analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
