QUALITY Manager or Quality Engineer - Shelton CT - Salary $85 -$95K, BOE, slightly negotiable.
We are seeking an experienced
Quality Manager
or
Sr. Quality Engineer for a manufacturing client in Shelton CT.
This role will
ead and continuously improve our Quality function within a manufacturing environment. This is a high‑impact leadership role responsible for driving product quality, customer satisfaction, regulatory compliance, and a culture of continuous improvement across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the Quality Department, setting priorities, objectives, and accountability
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across quality systems and processes
Develop, implement, and track departmental quality metrics and KPIs
Ensure compliance with
IATF 16949
and
ISO 9001
standards
Lead customer and supplier quality activities including
PPAP, ISIR, NCRs, SPC, Gauge R&R , and audits
Review and approve
8D corrective actions
and root cause analyses
Act as primary quality liaison for customers and suppliers; attend customer meetings as needed
Actively participate in
APQP , quote reviews, and new product introductions
Maintain and improve quality procedures, manuals, and documentation
Support and enforce company policies, Code of Conduct, and safety requirements
Champion safety initiatives and ensure compliance with OSHA and HSE standards
Lead, coach, and develop quality team members to build a high‑performing, continuous‑learning organization
Foster a strong culture of safety, professionalism, and accountability
Ensure Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) policies are implemented and followed
Lead investigations of safety incidents and implement corrective actions
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical training (o r 5+ years of relevant manufacturing experience)
5+ years of supervisory or management experience
in a manufacturing environment
Strong working knowledge of
ISO 9001
and
IATF 16949
quality systems
Experience in metalworking, Automotive or industrial manufacturing strongly preferred
Hands‑on experience with:
FMEA, PPAP, Root Cause Analysis, 8D reporting
Statistical analysis and data‑driven decision making
