
Investigator, Labor Relations II (Burbank)

Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
1. Conduct Workplace Investigations Independently manage end-to-end investigations into employee complaints
Interview complainants, respondents, witnesses, and other relevant parties
Gather and analyze evidence to determine facts objectively
Handle sensitive matters including harassment, discrimination, retaliation, workplace violence, and misconduct
2. Investigation Planning & Execution:
Develop investigation strategies and interview frameworks
Identify and collaborate with relevant stakeholders (HR, Legal, Security, etc.)
Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable employment laws
3. Reporting & Documentation:
Prepare clear, detailed investigation reports with findings and conclusions
Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of all cases
Present outcomes and recommendations to stakeholders
4. Employee Discipline & Resolution:
Recommend appropriate disciplinary actions based on findings
Communicate outcomes to employees professionally and tactfully
Draft disciplinary letters, agreements, and other documentation
5. Labor Relations & Stakeholder Management:
Partner with Labor Relations teams on union-related matters and grievances
Participate in grievance handling and settlement discussions
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Legal, HR, and business leaders
6. Case Management:
Manage multiple investigations simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
Ensure timely resolution while maintaining quality and fairness
Required Qualifications: 3+ years of experience in Employee Relations, HR, Legal, or a related field
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Strong understanding of employment laws (e.g., ADA, EEOC, FLSA, NLRA)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong interviewing, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook (Excel preferred)
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in unionized or labor-intensive environments
Experience supporting production or large workforce populations
Prior experience conducting workplace investigations
