HR Manager
On‑Site – Long Beach, CA
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced
HR Manager
to lead all core human resources functions for our on‑site Long Beach operation. This role partners closely with executive leadership and operations to support a unionized workforce, drive employee engagement, and ensure full compliance with labor and employment regulations.
The ideal candidate brings hands‑on HR leadership, strong labor relations experience, and the ability to navigate a fast‑paced, on‑site environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead day‑to‑day HR operations including employee relations, performance management, onboarding, and offboarding
Serve as the primary HR contact for a
unionized workforce , supporting positive labor relations
Participate in
union negotiations , grievance processes, and contract administration
Interpret and apply collective bargaining agreements (CBAs) consistently and effectively
Advise managers on employee relations matters, corrective actions, and performance issues
Ensure compliance with federal, state (California), and local employment laws and labor regulations
Partner with leadership on workforce planning, talent development, and organizational initiatives
Oversee benefits administration, leaves of absence, and HR systems
Conduct investigations and resolve employee relations matters with professionalism and discretion
Support compensation planning, performance reviews, and employee engagement initiatives
Maintain accurate HR documentation, reporting, and audit readiness
Qualifications
5+ years of progressive HR experience, including HR leadership responsibility
Direct experience supporting union environments , including negotiations and grievance handling
Strong knowledge of California employment and labor laws
Proven ability to manage complex employee relations issues
Experience working on‑site with hourly and salaried employee populations
Strong communication, judgment, and problem‑solving skills
Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office tools
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
Compensation: $110,000 to $140,000
