Strategic Sourcing Manager (Oakland)

This is a
senior-level leadership role
where you’ll influence procurement strategy, lead high-value negotiations, and partner with executive stakeholders to deliver cost efficiency, supplier performance, and risk mitigation.
Key Responsibilities
Lead category strategy development for complex, high-value spend areas
Drive strategic sourcing initiatives including RFPs, RFIs, and vendor selection
Negotiate and manage large-scale contracts ensuring compliance and value delivery
Build and maintain strong supplier relationships and performance frameworks
Partner with cross-functional stakeholders (engineering, legal, operations, leadership)
Conduct market analysis and supplier risk assessments
Deliver cost optimization, supply continuity, and sustainability goals
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field
8+ years of experience in procurement / strategic sourcing
Proven experience managing complex categories and supplier negotiations
Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
Preferred Qualifications
10+ years in procurement/supply chain
Experience in utilities, energy, or infrastructure sectors
Category experience in:
IT / Professional Services
Construction / Materials
Expertise with tools like SAP, Ariba, or similar systems
Strong analytical, contract management, and project leadership skills
MBA or advanced degree (preferred)
