MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE:
Capital Projects ($25MM+)
Petrochemical or Oil and Gas industry experience

Job Summary
We are seeking a
Sourcing Specialist
to support capital project sourcing activities within a CapEx-focused procurement organization. This role manages sourcing activities for engineered equipment and services, supports large capital projects (including international projects), and partners closely with Project Procurement Managers and business stakeholders to deliver value, cost optimization, and supply security.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong procurement fundamentals, negotiation skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across functions, geographies, and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
Source and manage a portfolio of products and services to improve cost position and ensure supply security using strategic sourcing processes
Negotiate spot purchases for capital projects and support implementation of commercial agreements on large, often international, capital projects
Provide input into the development and execution of sourcing strategies and commercial agreements
Support Project Procurement Managers in implementing sourcing strategies, contracts, and procurement work processes
Manage sourcing and contract activities related to “run the business” operational needs
Primary commodity focus on
Engineered Equipment , including Process Containment Equipment (PCE), Mechanical, and/or Electrical disciplines
Apply market knowledge and tactical negotiation skills to maximize value delivery for business stakeholders and engineering organizations
Draft, negotiate, and own supplier contracts when applicable
Act as a key contributor within assigned commodity teams, receiving functional guidance from Purchasing Leaders and Sourcing Managers
Interface with global purchasing service centers, payables, materials coordinators, and project procurement teams to ensure proper execution of supply strategies, work processes, and spend authority
Support supplier qualification, site access, and compliance requirements (including insurance and documentation)
Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships while addressing quality, delivery, and performance issues
Maintain awareness of supplier market developments, including mergers, acquisitions, financial health, and key personnel changes
Utilize sourcing tools, data, and analytics to improve procurement efficiency and effectiveness
Required Skills & Knowledge
Working knowledge of purchasing fundamentals and procurement policies and work processes
Strong negotiation and influencing skills with internal and external stakeholders
Ability to focus on value delivery and sustainable competitive advantage
Financial and market analysis skills with strong data manipulation capability
Initiative to identify and challenge inefficiencies and process deviations
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Ability to collaborate across cultures and global teams

Education & Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree
5+ years of industrial or procurement experience
Experience supporting Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management (EPCM) teams
Exposure to petrochemical and/or oil & gas industries
SAP experience preferred
