Overview

A leading international law firm is seeking a senior M&A lawyer to join its New York office as a non-equity partner. This role is suited to an experienced practitioner with a strong track record advising on complex corporate transactions, particularly in private equity and strategic M&A.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and execute domestic and cross-border M&A transactions, including public and private acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures
Advise private equity sponsors, portfolio companies, and corporate clients on strategic transactions and governance matters
Manage client relationships and act as a primary point of contact on key mandates
Supervise and mentor associates and junior lawyers
Collaborate with colleagues across practice areas (e.g., tax, finance, antitrust) to deliver integrated transaction advice
Support business development initiatives and contribute to the growth of the M&A practice

Qualifications & Experience

J.D. (or equivalent) and admission to the New York Bar
Significant experience at a top-tier law firm or equivalent environment
Demonstrated ability to lead transactions and manage client relationships independently
Strong technical expertise in M&A, including private equity transactions
Commercially minded with excellent judgment and negotiation skills
Portable or developing client relationships are advantageous but not required
