Process Engineer

Formosa Plastics Corporation, Louisiana, located in Baton Rouge, LA (jobsite), is looking for a full-time Process Engineer with a Bachelors degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering and 2 years related work experience. Job duties include designing an ethylene dichloride cracking furnace for the production of vinyl chloride monomer, designing and implementing a heat recovery vaporizer to reduce water and energy consumption, designing and implementing an oxy reactor train to improve reaction efficiency and lower maintenance cost, designing and implementing a wastewater stripping tower system to enhance the removal of pollutants, designing and implementing a cooling water tower system to improve heat transfer performance and water reuse efficiency, designing and implementing a relief valve discharge system to improve the incinerator combustion performance, designing and testing a hydrochloric acid production incinerator, designing and implementing a heavy ends column heat recovery system, and conducting hazard and operability analysis.
