Job Description
Pinewood Elementary School is seeking a caring, dependable Education Support Specialist to support a student with identified health needs. This position plays an important role in ensuring the student's safety, well-being, and access to learning throughout the school day.
Primary Responsibilities
Provide direct care and daily support for a student with health needs in accordance with medical plans and district guidelines
Monitor the student's well-being and communicate concerns promptly to appropriate staff
Collaborate with teachers, nurses, administrators, and families to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment
Assist with supervision and other school-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications (one Of The Following)
Those interested who do not meet one of the required qualifications are still encouraged to apply as the ParaEducator Test can be completed during the application/interview process.
Associate's degree
60 semester college credits
Passing Score on the ParaEducator test
Essential Skills
Ability to follow health care plans and maintain confidentiality
Strong communication skills and a student-centered mindset
Dependable, flexible, and able to respond to student needs throughout the day
Passionate about working with children
Experience working with children or in a school setting preferred
Supervise students as directed by the supervisor
Establishes a culture for learning by supporting the mission, beliefs and the strategic plan of the district
Maintain confidentiality of information about students, staff and families
Experience working with diverse students and families
