General Description:
The Assistant Coach will assist in promoting physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship while fostering a positive and supportive environment for student‑athletes. This position requires collaboration with coaching staff, effective communication with the school district and community, and a commitment to fostering an educational and competitive sports experience.
Responsibilities
Assist the Head Coach in coordinating and supervising the athletic program and team.
Support the development and implementation of training and game programs to enhance athlete performance.
Provide guidance and mentorship to athletes, encouraging physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
Collaborate with the coaching staff to ensure the athletic program is executed effectively and in alignment with school guidelines.
Ensure all athletic activities comply with MIAA guidelines and standards.
Communicate effectively with school district members, the community, and booster clubs.
Work closely with booster clubs and community organizations to strengthen program support.
Adapt to change and handle additional tasks as assigned by the Head Coach.
Support the value of education and the district's overall mission.
Qualifications Required
High school diploma or equivalent.
CPR Certified.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
A commitment to the academic and athletic development of student‑athletes.
Ability to react to change productively and manage multiple responsibilities.
Preferred
Previous coaching experience or strong knowledge of the sport.
