Qualifications
High school diploma, GED Certificate or demonstrated progress toward obtaining a GED as required by Kentucky law.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Has successfully completed all training required by state law and local board policy.
Knowledge Of
Basic computer skills including use of mouse and keyboard to navigate computer, e-mail, and websites.
Safe practices concerning school bus transportation.
Basic record-keeping techniques.
Applicable sections of the KY Administrative Regulations and other applicable laws.
Health and Safety regulations.
Job Description
Assist in providing safe transportation so that students may enjoy the fullest possible advantage from the district’s curriculum and extracurricular program.
Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities
Assists the bus driver in maintaining good student conduct on the bus.
Assist with student loading, unloading, and seating arrangements as required.
Assures that students get on and off the bus in an orderly fashion.
Assists in meeting a wide array of student needs.
Provides written records of violations of the student code to the Director of Transportation.
Collects and turns over to the school secretary those personal items left on the bus by students.
Maintains proper records and documentation.
Maintains knowledge of Emergency Evacuation Procedures.
Safely lifts students according to established guidelines.
Establishes and maintains cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
Communicates effectively both orally and in writing.
Understands and follows oral and written directions.
Observes health and safety regulations.
Maintains confidentiality of all students.
Demonstrates loyalty and dedication to the purposes and goals of the Daviess County Public Schools.
Successful completion of post-offer, pre-employment screenings are required as a contingency of employment.
Terms of Employment
Support employee with year-to-year contract.
Participates in Kentucky Retirement System (KRS).
