Referral Specialist

Position Summary
The Referral Specialist is responsible for the timely and efficient processing of referral orders. Organizes, coordinates, and communicates required information to patients, family members, providers, office staff, and insurance company representatives. Schedules appointments with specialists, facilities, patients, and obtains insurance precertifications and/or authorizations.
Location: Peoria, IL. 5 days a week, no holidays or weekends. Pay: $18.80 - $22.12 per hour, hourly position.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
High School/GED. 1 year of experience in a medical office setting. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, solid computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft software, strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, detail oriented.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience as a Medical Office Assistant; referral coordination; working with health insurance payors; basic knowledge of CPT‑4 and ICD‑10.
