Crusher Maintenance Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Crusher Maintenance Mechanic to maintain and support production and load-out equipment at aggregate crushing and screening plants. This role is responsible for ensuring plant equipment operates safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime.

The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience with crushing, screening, and conveying equipment, strong mechanical aptitude, and a proactive approach to preventative maintenance. Major repairs may be coordinated with supervisors or third‑party service providers as needed.

A service truck and tool allowance are provided.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties & Functions)

Perform routine, preventative, and corrective maintenance on crushing, screening, and conveying equipment.

Partner with plant operators to diagnose equipment issues and identify required repairs and parts.

Weld and fabricate components using arc welding equipment and cutting torch.

Create, complete, and update work orders in the maintenance management system.

Operate and maintain a service truck to support plant maintenance activities.

Communicate effectively via two‑way radio and job‑specific computer systems.

Follow all safety policies and procedures at all times.

Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

May be subject to drug testing, medical exams, and physical agility testing.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

High school diploma or GED preferred.

1–2 years of related maintenance or mechanical experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience with aggregate plant equipment strongly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of rock crushing, screening, and conveying equipment.

Experience with preventative maintenance programs and procedures.

Ability to read and interpret instructions, maintenance manuals, and short correspondence.

Ability to write clear work orders, reports, and basic correspondence.

Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to apply common‑sense judgment.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in one‑on‑one and team environments.

Familiarity with inventory systems and order processing software is a plus.

Licenses & Certifications

Current and valid driver’s license required.

Current CDL required to operate service truck.

Current DOT medical card required.

Crane certification preferred but not required.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Ability to lift, climb, bend, and perform physical labor associated with plant maintenance work.

Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime, as operational needs require.
