Position Summary
Responsible for the operation, maintenance and repair of boilers, ammonia refrigeration, and HVAC utility equipment/systems.

Benefits
Pay rate: $32.08/hr – $48.67/hr, plus shift differential. Base pay dependent on experience and certifications.

Schedule: Wednesday to Friday, 5:30 pm–6 am. Weekend, every other Saturday.

Sign‑On Bonus of $5,000 (two installments: $2,500 at start and $2,500 at 90 days).

Key Areas of Responsibility

Start systems and observe operation.

Read gauges and instruments and adjust mechanisms to control fluid level, pressure and temperature in the system.

Maintain proper functioning of refrigeration systems, steam generation, compressed air, hot water, treated water, glycol and other systems.

Use knowledge of water chemistry to maintain and service equipment.

Monitor utilities used by the building.

Respond to emergency calls regarding refrigeration on the production floor.

Ensure continued production operation as it relates to refrigeration equipment, utilities and HVAC equipment.

Dismantle malfunctioning systems and test components using electrical, mechanical and pneumatic testing equipment. Troubleshoot, adjust and repair utility systems equipment as problems/deviations occur.

Pipefitting and plumbing repair.

Repair/rebuild pumps, valves, regulators, traps, fans, and other equipment.

Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications

State of Ohio High Pressure Boiler Operator or Third Class Stationary Engineer License required.

Manufacturing experience preferred.

At least 3 years of experience in the operation, repair and maintenance of boilers, refrigeration, HVAC, and utility equipment/systems.

Experience with ammonia refrigeration and electrical controls preferred.

EPA refrigerant recovery certification preferred.

HAZMAT training certification preferred (training provided). Must be willing and able to participate on a HAZMAT team.

Legible handwriting with attention to detail.

Ability to climb stairs and stand for long periods.

Detect and understand warning lights, buzzers, alarms or instruments indicating hazardous conditions or circumstances that may cause equipment or product loss and physical harm.

Compliance with good manufacturing practices (GMPs).

Adherence to safety rules and procedures.

Ability to work 12‑hour shifts with some daily overtime and weekend overtime.

Ability to work a rotating 3‑4‑day schedule.

High school diploma or GED preferred.
