Overview
We are urgently hiring experienced Confined Space Entrants for underground copper cable removal in active manholes and duct systems. This is a hands‑on, physically demanding role involving direct entry into confined spaces to cut, pull, and remove legacy telecom cable.
Key Responsibilities
Enter manholes to perform underground cable removal operations
Cut, slit, and segment large gel‑filled copper cables (up to 1800‑pair)
Use reciprocating saws, sheath slitters, pulling grips, and rigging systems
Work safely as part of a 5‑person crew in confined space environments
Follow all confined space entry procedures and gas monitoring protocols
Maintain strict adherence to safety standards in hot, humid conditions
Requirements
1–2+ years underground telecom or cable removal experience
Hands‑on experience with copper or fiber cable cutting/removal
Confined Space Entry Certification (preferred; training provided if needed)
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
Physically able to work in confined, hot, and strenuous environments
Strong safety mindset and attention to detail
Nice to Have
OSHA 10 or 30 certification
Experience with gel‑filled cable or manhole environments
Trenching/excavation safety knowledge
What We Provide
All tools and safety equipment (gas monitors, tripods, blowers, etc.)
Full PPE, including Tyvek suits
Paid confined space certification training if required
