
Journeyman MBSE Systems Engineer

Responsibilities
Sabre Systems is currently recruiting for a Journeyman MBSE Systems Engineer for support to the Navy's Persistent Unmanned Air Systems (UAS) Program Office (PMA-262) at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Lexington Park, MD. The candidate will provide journeyman-level MBSE support to PMA-262 for unmanned aircraft system mission capabilities, integration, and lifecycle management. The role focuses on producing high-quality SysML model content, maintaining traceability, and supporting integration and verification planning using model-driven methods.
Primary Responsibilities
Develop and maintain SysML model content supporting system context, operational scenarios, functional decomposition, interface definition, and behavior representation.
Assist with requirements decomposition and traceability (mission needs, system requirements, functions/interfaces, verification methods), all in accordance with RIBS-P and WBBB.
Support interface definition and coordination (ICD inputs, data flows, dependencies, constraints) using model artifacts as the technical backbone.
Contribute to verification planning outputs (verification crosswalks, testability considerations, model-backed acceptance criteria).
Perform model quality checks (naming, structure, consistency) and support model configuration/versioning procedures.
Support engineering meetings and technical exchanges by producing clean views/packages and model-based briefing material.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Must have a Technical BS or BA degree
3+ years systems engineering and/or MBSE experience on complex systems
SysML modeling experience (any leading toolset acceptable) and ability to learn program-specific conventions quickly
Working understanding of interfaces, requirements, and verification concepts in DoD programs
Strong writing and communication skills (briefing and documentation support)
Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance; Top Secret strongly preferred.
Must be a US Citizen
Desired / Strong Plus
Experience supporting unmanned systems, autonomy-enabling interfaces, maritime ISR, or mission systems integration
Familiarity with digital engineering workflows (model governance, configuration management, artifact publishing)
Exposure to common program tools (requirements management, issue tracking, baselines)
Location is Pax River, MD area (on-site as required).
Compensation Statement
At Sabre Systems, LLC, compensation is based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, and contract-specific requirements; however, final compensation will be determined by individual qualifications and applicable contract terms. The general salary range for this position is as follows: $107,600.00 - $119,100.00
