New Braunfels/San Marcos Area Territory - BGE Inc Civil Engineering

Job Responsibilities

Observes construction activities performed by a contractor or sub‑contractor on preparation of water, wastewater, sanitary, storm sewer, paving, and detention facilities

Regularly interfaces with Client and Contractor to ensure project is moving forward

Reviews pay apps and change orders for accuracy

Assist in responses to RFI’s ensuring responses are issued in a timely manner

Lead preconstruction meetings and meetings as required by the client onsite

Documents and reports to the supervisor whether the activity was completed in accordance with contract documents

Additional duties include observation and documentation for specific testing procedures outlined in the specifications

Maintains a daily job log

Arranges and conducts job progress meetings

Schedules and conducts final inspections with representatives from various municipalities

Communicates directly with client representatives

Job Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required; specialized vocational training is a plus.

2 years of general civil construction experience, including Public Works Infrastructure inspection experience

Strong understanding of civil infrastructure construction schematics/drawings

Ability and willingness to work hours other than 8am to 5pm, including nights, weekends and holidays

Ability and willingness to work outside with exposure to weather conditions

Ability to perform basic math skills including geometry

Ability to communicate and interact effectively with others

Ability to lift 25 lbs

Must possess a current valid US-based driver license and must be willing to submit to a pre‑employment drug test and driving record check.
