Position Overview
Seeking an experienced
Construction Manager
to support
new underground fibre construction projects
in the Columbus, Ohio area. This role is responsible for
managing field inspectors , overseeing Outside Plant (OSP) and underground construction activities, and ensuring daily progress is accurately reported to the Project Manager.
This is a hands‑on, field‑focused role supporting rapid national expansion, particularly in
data center and hyperscaler infrastructure builds .
Key Responsibilities
Manage and oversee a team of field inspectors supporting underground fibre construction
Coordinate and monitor Outside Plant (OSP) and underground construction activities
Ensure construction work aligns with project plans, schedules, and quality standards
Provide
daily reporting
and updates to the Project Manager
Act as the primary point of contact for field execution and inspection management
Identify and escalate construction issues, risks, or delays as needed
Maintain accurate documentation and reporting related to field activities
Required Skills & Experience
Proven experience in
fibre optic construction
and underground construction projects
Strong understanding of
OSP (Outside Plant)
construction practices
Experience managing and coordinating
inspectors or field personnel
Familiarity with underground drilling and construction methods
Ability to operate effectively in both field and office environments
Strong reporting, organisational, and communication skills
Additional Qualifications
OSHA 10 certification
(required or willingness to obtain)
