Manages the design, installation, operation and maintenance of belt drives, haulage/conveyor systems and related electrical equipment for the mine.
Target Responsibilities
Must adhere to CORE Natural Resources first principles including Safety, Sustainability, and Continuous Improvement.
Identifies target objectives, develops plans to achieve the objectives and monitors plans and results.
Manages all employees responsible for operating and maintaining the belt haulage system.
Manages the installation, operation and maintenance of belt drives, haulage/conveyor systems and related electrical systems to safely maximize productivity and profitability.
Establishes, communicates, and monitors performance objectives for all belt crews.
Designs and approves all components of conveyor system including transfer chutes, belts, head rollers, drives and motors.
Plans belt installations and moves using short term and long term mine plans.
Plans and analyzes the purchase of new equipment.
May assist and/or prepare annual belt/conveyor system budget for the mine.
Conducts safety inspections and ensures that equipment is used in a safe and responsible manner.
Communicates mine plans, changes and company policies and procedures to supervisors & employees.
Coordinates and communicates with engineering, maintenance, and other departments to maintain an efficient and safe operation.
May perform the duties of another Staff Member i.e. Section Coordinator
May assume the duties of direct supervisor due to absence.
Requires PA Black Hat or equivalent certification
5 years of specialized training in belt drives and conveyor/haulage systems.
Requires thorough knowledge of coal mining operations, including safety, compliance, production, maintenance, economics, equipment usage and staff utilization.
And/or related experience and 8-10 years of related experience in mine operations and electrical and mechanical maintenance
And/or bachelor’s degree in engineering, mining electronics or a related field and 6-8 years of experience.
Requires working knowledge of coal mining operations; including safety, production, maintenance, economics, equipment usage and staff utilization.
Must be able to lead teams, manage contractors, and foster a safe working environment.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Suite (i.e., Word, Outlook, Excel etc.)
Must be able to work overtime, weekends and holidays as schedule requires
Must be able to work other shifts as needed
Must be a detailed oriented person and be able to communicate clearly and effectively
This position is defined by the Dictionary of Occupational Titles as a heavy job category and must be able to lift, carry, pull/push, climb, shovel, walk, pry, work on
ear moving equipment and perform any job specific activity as required by job assignment
Preferred Qualifications
Oracle system experience
PA Mine Foreman, Assistant Mine Foreman, or Fireboss certification
