Purpose
An

Order Selector

is responsible for accurately picking and preparing customer order materials in advance of a production line shift schedule. The position will work in a warehouse and production environment, ensuring materials inventory is brought to the production lines timely and efficiently to meet daily customer order demands while maintaining safety and quality control.

Key Responsibilities

Order Selectors play a crucial role in warehouse and production operations, performing tasks such as selecting products from shelves, packing them securely, and preparing them for production and ultimately shipment

Reading and interpreting customer orders accurately to locate the correct items

Picking and stacking products on pallets, ensuring the correct quantity and type of items

Operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, to bring materials to the production lines

Performing inventory management tasks, including tracking stock movement, conducting physical counts, and reporting discrepancies

Inspecting products for quality and damage before shipment to maintain high standards

Labeling, wrapping, and preparing orders for shipment, including applying special packaging like ice or dry ice when required

Maintaining a clean and safe work environment, following all safety procedures and using personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed

Communicating effectively with supervisors and coworkers to ensure smooth inventory supply, warehouse and production operations as necessary

Required Skills And Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent

Previous experience in a warehouse or similar role is advantageous

Ability to operate warehouse machinery safely, including forklifts and pallet jacks

Strong attention to detail and accuracy to prevent errors in order fulfillment

Physical fitness to handle lifting and moving heavy items, often ranging from 40–100 pounds

Basic literacy and communication skills to read orders and follow instructions

Knowledge of inventory control practices and warehouse operations
