Thursday to Saturday: 5:45 PM - 6:00 AM
Every other Wednesday: 7:30 AM - 12:30 PM
Approximately 37 hours per week (overtime available whenneeded)
Position Summary
Citadel Security USA is seeking a Full-Time Armed Security Officer for a detention facility assignment in Glenwood Springs. This role centers on maintaining order, supporting correctional personnel, and helping ensure the safety of staff, inmates, and the overall facility. The position requires attention to detail, the ability to follow structured procedures, and a professional approach when working in a secure environment alongside law enforcement personnel.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor inmate movement and general activity within assigned areas
Assist correctional staff with enforcing facility rules and procedures
Conduct routine checks to ensure safety and compliance standards are met
Support inmate escort or transport tasks when required
Observe conditions and report incidents or irregular activity
Prepare clear and accurate reports, including daily logs and incident documentation
Maintain a visible armed presence within the facility
Communicate effectively with deputies, supervisors, and staff
Follow all post orders, legal requirements, and company guidelines
Minimum Qualifications
Must meet all Colorado requirements for armed security personnel
Personal firearm required; must be carried in accordance with laws and company policy
Ability to pass background screening and site-specific requirements
Strong observation, communication, and decision-making skills
Ability to remain composed in a structured, high-security setting
Reliable attendance and ability to work the assigned schedule
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in corrections, detention, or armed security roles
Background working alongside law enforcement or in controlled environments
Familiarity with inmate handling, escort, or transport procedures
Work Environment
Secure detention or correctional facility setting
Ongoing coordination with deputies and correctional staff
May involve extended periods of standing, walking, and escorting individuals
Primarily overnight schedule with occasional daytime coverage
