Role Overview
BEPC is seeking a Kubernetes Engineer to support a mission‑critical semiconductor manufacturing site in Richardson, Texas. This role is ideal for someone with proven, hands‑on Kubernetes experience in production environments—not just lab or academic exposure.
Responsibilities include architecting, deploying, and supporting IT and OT infrastructure, including next‑generation container platforms and traditional server environments. The engineer will enable advanced manufacturing technologies such as AI‑driven automation, equipment integration, and process control systems.
Key Responsibilities
Architect, deploy, and support production‑grade Kubernetes environments
Implement and scale container‑based application platforms using Docker and Kubernetes
Provide operational support for on‑premise server infrastructure (physical and virtual)
Manage and maintain VMware environments including vSphere, vSAN, and NSX
Administer and support Windows Server and RHEL Linux systems
Troubleshoot performance and reliability issues across infrastructure and applications
Support migration from physical to virtualized and containerized environments
Collaborate with corporate IT, security teams, and manufacturing stakeholders
Participate in daily operational and incident‑response meetings for a 24/7 manufacturing site
Ensure compliance with cybersecurity and infrastructure standards
Document systems, configurations, and automation processes
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
5+ years of experience supporting enterprise server environments
5+ years of experience with Windows Server and RHEL Linux (5–9.x)
3+ years of experience with VMware technologies (vSphere, vSAN, NSX, VCF)
3+ years of experience with ServiceNow or similar service‑management platforms
Hands‑on experience deploying and managing Kubernetes in production environments (required)
Experience with Docker and container orchestration
Experience with scripting or automation tools (PowerShell, JSON, Ruby, Chef, Tanium, etc.)
Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (VLANs, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls, routing)
Experience with backup, disaster recovery, and high‑availability systems
Strong documentation and communication skills
Preferred
Experience in semiconductor, manufacturing, or OT environments
Familiarity with SCADA systems, MES, or industrial network architectures
Experience with hyper‑converged infrastructure (e.g., Dell VxRail)
Knowledge of AI/automation technologies in manufacturing
Experience with Cisco Nexus/Catalyst networking
Experience with data protection tools such as Rubrik
Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC)
Advanced degree in a related field
