We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Accountant to support a short-term project focused on reconciliation, cleanup, and process improvement. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working through complex discrepancies, identifying root causes, and driving resolutions in a fast-paced environment.
This individual will play a key role in bringing accuracy to receivables, improving aging, and supporting ongoing accounting operations. The position will work closely with senior accounting leadership to execute critical cleanup initiatives and strengthen existing processes.
Key Responsibilities
Perform detailed reconciliations of accounts receivable balances, including factored receivables, chargebacks, and internal AR accounts
Analyze discrepancies, identify recurring issues, and work cross-functionally to resolve root causes
Investigate and correct misapplied cash transactions, including those involving third-party partners
Reconcile high-volume payment activity and ensure accurate cash application to maintain current aging
Research and resolve aged receivables to improve overall AR accuracy and reporting
Support reconciliation and tracking of e-commerce transactions, including collections and related fees
Assist in improving processes and internal controls related to AR and cash application
Provide general accounting support, including account reconciliations and cleanup of legacy balances
Qualifications
3–5+ years of accounting experience, with a strong focus on Accounts Receivable
Solid understanding of GAAP and account reconciliation processes
Experience with complex reconciliations and discrepancy resolution
Exposure to high-volume transactions or e-commerce environments preferred
Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, data analysis)
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and drive projects to completion within tight timelines
