College Coach
Position
Are you a college graduate passionate about lifting other students as you climb your own ladder of success? You could inspire the next generation by becoming a college coach.
You will work with up to 450 college students virtually—by phone, text messaging, email, and social media—to help them navigate the beginning of their college career and ultimately achieve their dream of earning a degree. In your monthly calls you will use your academic and personal experiences, as well as Beyond 12’s coaching curriculum, to help your students set goals, create education plans, navigate financial aid, build relationships, and manage their time effectively so they can succeed in and out of the classroom. For every student, you will track and document data about their progress to serve them most effectively. As a college coach, you will help our organization better understand college persistence and graduation trends.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale; demonstrated leadership and achievement in academic, extracurricular, volunteer, or professional settings.
1–2 years of post‑college professional experience, which may or may not be in the coaching field.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Demonstrated prioritization and time‑management skills.
Experience with documenting and assessing data, and providing reviews or insights.
Strong desire to learn about education technology and college student success best practices.
Familiarity with Google Suite (ex.: Google Docs, Google Calendar, Google Sheets).
Bonus: Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English.
Bonus: Experience working with students from under‑resourced communities and those who are the first in their families to attend college.
Responsibilities
Provide personalized, motivating, and actionable coaching to college students, scheduling and contacting all of your students consistently every month.
Offer college students guidance and direction in a timely manner.
Daily: consistently collect, record, and interpret student data for every interaction.
Meet department goals for student calls, texts, and interactions as set by your manager and the department using proven techniques and training, while contributing your own insights and creativity.
Participate in virtual weekly meetings to review coaching program updates, data hygiene, partner‑related questions, and general updates.
Guide students to the appropriate campus resources and help them identify and overcome obstacles that may prevent them from succeeding.
Maintain student safety during virtual coaching interactions, actively listening and asking powerful questions.
Prepare written insights on trends you are seeing with students to share quarterly.
Actively participate in department and organization‑wide projects to support students and operations.
Reflect Beyond 12’s values (Trust, Respect, Innovation, Collaboration, Knowledge, Excellence) in your role with students and colleagues.

Employment status: Full‑time; exempt (not eligible for overtime)
Minimum 2‑year commitment
Start date: July 9, 2026
Required schedule: 5 days per week, typically Monday–Friday 9 am‑6 pm (3 days) and 11 am‑8 pm (2 days). One week per month, a Saturday 9 am‑6 pm shift replaces one weekday shift.
Compensation
Georgia (Atlanta Program): $53,276
Salary determined by work location and aligned to regional cost of labor and local regulations.
