TITLE:
Teacher
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Create a program favorable to learning for three to five year-old children in a literacy-rich preschool environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Arizona Early Childhood Education certification
Experience with three to five year-old children (preferred)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
(Essential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include any of the following tasks, knowledge, skills, and other characteristics. This list is ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY, and is not a comprehensive listing of all duties and responsibilities performed by the incumbents of this class.)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct appropriate academic screening and ongoing observational assessments.
Maintain accurate records for documentation of student progress.
Maintain compliance with all DHS licensing regulations and accreditation criteria.
Set-up and maintain a safe, literacy rich, and engaging early childhood environment.
Plan and set-up appropriate standards-based early learning activities for preschool children.
Plan, conduct and/or participate in in-service activities.
Maintain on-going communication (verbal and written) with parents of students.
Direct activities of instructional assistants.
Provide performance evaluation input regarding instructional assistant(s) to school administrator.
Attend all necessary training and department meetings.
Perform other duties as assigned.
