Overview
You will be an integral member of the team that creates distinctively different and authentic experiences for our guests. You will be responsible for greeting guests, taking orders, serve food and beverages, and checking on guest satisfaction. You will use the freedom to go beyond to turn guest interactions into moments of magic.
Responsibilities
Serve food courses and alcoholic beverages to guests
Set tables according to service standards
Answer questions on menu selections to guests
Communicate with the kitchen regarding menu questions, the length of wait, recooking orders, and product availability
Communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen
Record transaction in MICROS system at time of order
Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction with each food course and/or beverages
Maintain cleanliness of work areas, china, glass, etc., throughout the day
Complete closing duties, including restocking items, turning off lights, etc.
Present physical and accurate check to guests and process payments
Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional
Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards
Run food and bus tables when you find extra time
Anticipate and address guests' service needs
Speak with others using clear and professional language
Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others and support your team to reach common goals
Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards
Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance.
Thank guests with genuine appreciation
Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors
Additional Duties & Responsibilities
Adhere to departmental policies and procedures
Effectively communicate with peers, management, line and front of the house employees
Practice effective listening: (seek to understand)
Perform related duties as required
Be responsible for the cleanliness of the immediate work area as well as the general property
Be familiar with all Hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately
Maintain complete knowledge of all liquor brands, beers and non‑alcoholic selections, correct glassware and garnishes at Terranea
All side‑work thoroughly done in a timely fashion
All guest count are rung in for each check
Checks are closed out in ten minutes or less after the gusts have paid
Guests name, table number and room number are put on all checks
Participate in ongoing training and encourage the personal development of all associates
Qualifications
Experience. Must meet the legal age requirement to serve alcohol. Previous experience passionately providing food and beverage service to others preferred.
Knowledge. Alcohol service and Food Handler certifications are required. Familiarity of restaurant terminology and food service techniques preferred.
People Person. The best part of serving others is creating experiences for them that go beyond the expected.
Great communicator. Providing amazing experiences requires the ability to communicate fluently in English both verbally and through legible writing
Compensation
Base Pay Start Rate: $16.90/Hr. +Tips!
