About the Role
The Ecommerce Technical Lead is responsible for the stability, performance, and scalability of the SAP Commerce (Hybris) platform. Reporting to the Senior Ecommerce Architect, this role leads the design and development of backend e‑commerce solutions, oversees development teams, and supports operational reliability. You will translate business and technical requirements into scalable solutions, guide feature development, and ensure best practices across architecture, quality, and delivery. Success in this role requires deep technical expertise, strong leadership, cross‑functional coordination, and the ability to lead teams through complex, time‑sensitive challenges.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable e‑commerce solutions using Java and SAP Commerce (Hybris)
Own platform reliability, performance, and scalability, including monitoring and resolving production and support issues
Translate business and functional requirements into clear technical designs and implementation plans
Deliver new features and enhancements with a focus on security, performance, and reliability
Integrate e‑commerce platforms with SAP ERP, payment gateways, CRM systems, and other third‑party services
Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to architecture standards, best practices, and quality guidelines
Mentor and guide development teams, supporting skill development and consistent delivery standards
Collaborate with architects and peers to define implementation processes, quality gates, and development standards
Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, contributing to sprint planning, execution, and continuous improvement
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
5+ years of experience in e‑commerce and backend software development using Java
Strong hands‑on experience with SAP Commerce (Hybris), including architecture, data models, and core modules
Experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs, web services, and microservices architectures
Solid understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and enterprise development best practices
Proven ability to lead development teams and coordinate across IT and business stakeholders
Strong communication skills and experience operating in high‑pressure, production‑support environments
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or similar environments
Exposure to front‑end technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks such as Angular, React, or Node.js
Knowledge of DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments
SAP Commerce Cloud certification
