Peak Performers has partnered with a Texas State Agency to assist in their search for a hybrid
DB2 Database Administrator
in Austin, Tx. In this position, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining DB2 database systems to ensure they are secure, reliable, and performing efficiently.
Major duties
Administer and support DB2 databases in a production environment
Monitor and optimize database performance and reliability
Perform backups, recovery, and disaster recovery activities
Support databases on AIX/UNIX/Linux platforms
Develop shell scripts for automation and maintenance
Troubleshoot and resolve database issues
Ensure database security and compliance, including DB2 licensing
Collaborate with IT teams to support applications and system changes
Provide occasional after-hours support as needed
What we are looking for
8+ years of experience with DB2 Databases
8+ years of experience with DB2 licensing/passport advantage. Must be proficient in managing IBM software licenses and the Passport Advantage portal.
2+ years of hands‑on experience with AIX, UNIX, or Linux platforms.
Ability to write and maintain Shell scripts for database task automation.
5 years specifically managing DB2 on AIX is highly preferred.
