Job Description
Responsible for planning the bed placement for all patients entering inpatient or observation status.

Principal Accountabilities

Reviews the medical records of patients and provides the appropriate bed assignment that aligns with the physicians' orders and patient's needs.

Coordinates admissions and transfers with the Patient Transfer Center, physicians' offices, and other units within the hospital based on the assignment of the appropriate bed.

Obtains bed assignments for all internal patients (ED, PACU, ICU, etc.) and other units within the hospital to ensure proper bed placement.

Transfers patients in-house as needed, ensuring that critical transfers are given priority while following hospital procedure.

Maintains proper documentation and completes bed control worksheets accurately.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Required:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred:

Experience working in a healthcare facility, hospital system, or relevant area.

Experience with EPIC.

Medical terminology experience.
