Assistant Branch Manager II
Full‑time, management position at Greylock Credit Union in Greenport Hudson, Hudson, NY, US.

Salary Range:

$52,427 to $68,155

annually.

Sign‑on bonus:

$1,500. Eligible $500 after successful completion of onboarding/training, paid with two months of service, and $1,000 after 6 months of continued full‑time satisfactory service.

This role is under the general supervision of the Branch Manager and involves coordinating and supervising the ongoing activities of the branch while performing various teller and member service functions in accordance with Credit Union policies and procedures.

Perform functions within scope of authority to provide the highest level of service and responsiveness to members, adhering to regulatory compliance guidelines and Credit Union policies.

Oversee the branch in the absence of the Branch Manager; Tellers report directly to this position; operate a cash drawer or cash recycler to provide teller line coverage as needed.

Accurately process member transactions in accordance with cash handling procedures and policy (deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, check cashing, etc.), balance cash, work, and ensure proper documentation is signed and stamped at end of day.

Serve as a Member Service Representative; actively cross‑sell products and services; troubleshoot and reconcile problems or complaints referred by members or employees.

Open various types of accounts; process and close online consumer loan applications; process mortgage and home equity applications; ensure documents are complete for submission to underwriters.

Be accountable, in conjunction with Branch Manager, for annual audit requirements; perform additional supervisory and audit functions including required annual audits.

In partnership with Branch Manager, adhere to and monitor branch cash limits.

Vault Certified, ensure vault operating and cash handling policies are followed; manage the vault, including serving as the vault teller for a minimum of three months during the year.

Perform transaction overrides after completing Override Comprehension Training.

Conduct “out‑of‑balance” cash drawer difference audits, resolve teller errors; record and track over/short cash differences for direct reports.

Open and close the branch; assist with supervising daily setup of teller line; coordinate scheduling; mentor staff to develop skills; initiate disciplinary action as warranted and complete performance reviews.

Assist with cash recycler‑related duties; end‑of‑day balancing, maintain cash limits, troubleshoot jams, schedule maintenance.

Perform as a Notary Public and provide financial advice concerning loan options; may be required to become a Medallion Guarantee (STAMP Signer).

Adhere to branch security practices and regulatory compliance; stay abreast of changes through comprehension exercises, questionnaires, and learning courses.

Provide ongoing procedural training for CORE updates, sales, product knowledge, security practices, and regulatory compliance; facilitate coaching sessions to enhance staff development.

Promote the Credit Union locally, representing it in civic, community, and professional organizations.

Position Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent plus specialized training and coursework.

Minimum three years of Teller experience (preferred).

Progressive member service or teller supervisor experience (preferred).

Supervisory and loan origination experience (preferred).

Positive professional communication style and quality member service; organizational and interpersonal skills.

Good problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.

Knowledge of Credit Union products and services (preferred).

Strong understanding of compliance regulations adhered to in a branch network (preferred).

Team player with a positive and professional attitude toward members and co‑workers.

Proficient in various office software, spreadsheets, adding machines, cash recyclers and Microsoft Office.

Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods.

Supervisory Scope
Supervise, coach, and mentor full‑ and part‑time employees.
