Key Responsibilities
Plan and prepare healthy meals and snacks from our seasonal line in line with nutritional guidelines (e.g. EYFS and NHS guidance)
Cater for special dietary needs, allergies, and cultural preferences
Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen (in line with Food Standards Agency requirements)
Manage food stock, ordering, and kitchen budget efficiently
Keep accurate records of food safety checks, temperatures, and cleaning schedules
Work collaboratively with nursery staff to support children’s wellbeing
Qualifications
Previous experience as a cook, ideally in a nursery, school, or similar setting
Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
Knowledge of food safety regulations and allergen awareness
Understanding of children’s nutritional needs
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one)
A positive, caring, and team‑oriented attitude
Experience working with young children
Relevant catering or hospitality qualification
