
BIM Coordinator

Why do we need you?
The BIM Coordinator supports CertainTeed's design organization by developing, coordinating, and quality‑checking Building Information Models that accurately represent CertainTeed architectural ceilings and walls products. Reporting to the Project Design Manager, this role ensures BIM content and project models align with current product offerings, manufacturing constraints, and construction best practices. The BIM Coordinator serves as a technical expert within the design team for customer‑facing BIM deliverables while driving consistency and quality across all digital design assets.
Duties / Responsibilities
Develop and coordinate Revit‑based BIM models supporting CertainTeed product systems and project‑specific applications for use in, but not limited to, BIM 360 and integrating into Navisworks for project teams.
Set up and manage project models, including work‑sharing, model structure, and coordination with external consultant models.
Review incoming models to ensure proper application of CertainTeed products, assemblies, and detailing.
Support the Design Manager in resolving coordination and constructability issues.
Create, maintain, and update Revit families and system content aligned with current product data, tolerances, and installation requirements.
Ensure BIM assets remain current with product launches, updates, and discontinuations.
Maintain organized BIM libraries and version control.
Apply and support enforcement of CertainTeed and Saint‑Gobain BIM standards, templates, and modeling guidelines.
Perform routine quality reviews of BIM deliverables to ensure accuracy, consistency, and constructability.
Identify and elevate risks related to non‑compliant modeling or improper product representation.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for BIM processes and workflows.
Collaborate with Engineering, Product Management, Manufacturing, Technical Services, and Sales to ensure digital models properly reflect CertainTeed's production and installation constraints.
Provide technical BIM support to internal teams and external partners, including architects, designers, and contractors.
Participate in coordination meetings as a BIM technical resource.
Work closely with engineers, designers, and manufacturing teams to ensure BIM content aligns with real‑world product performance.
Provide internal support and training to colleagues on the use of BIM tools and company content as needed.
Participate in cross‑functional meetings to support digital coordination efforts.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Design, Construction Management, or Related Field.
5 years professional BIM experience, with advanced, hands‑on use of Autodesk Revit.
3 years required experience coordinating BIM models in a multi‑stakeholder environment.
3 years understanding of architectural systems, construction documentation, and manufacturer detailing.
Ability to translate product and technical data into accurate BIM content.
Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit (families, parameters, worksets, phasing, documentation).
