SRE Engineering is seeking experienced Field Inspectors and Senior Field Inspectors to support active transit infrastructure work within the MTA system. Candidates must have hands‑on MTA construction inspection experience and be ready to mobilize quickly.
Responsibilities
Perform daily field inspections and prepare reports per MTA standards
Monitor contractor compliance with contract documents, safety, and quality requirements
Document daily construction activity including field reports, photos, and logs (Unifier experience a plus)
Attend hold‑point inspections and coordinate with MTA C&D staff
Support General Order (GO) coverage including nights and weekends as required
Coordinate with flaggers, maintainers, and railroad‑supplied services in active rail environments
Assist with punch lists, substantial completion walkthroughs, and closeout documentation
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of field inspection experience on MTA C&D, NYCT, or MTA‑agency construction projects
Familiarity with MTA construction procedures, PMGs, and Unifier document management
OSHA‑30 required
Track safety training
ADA, structural, civil, architectural, or mechanical inspection experience preferred
Chapter 17 Special Inspection credentials is a strong plus
Flexibility for nights, weekends, and GO windows
Strong written documentation skills
