
UL508A Panel Technician / Custom Machine Technician

CG Hill and Sons Inc is seeking a skilled Control Panel Technician to join our team in Minneapolis, MN. This is a full‑time, on‑site role responsible for building, wiring, and testing custom electrical control panels in compliance with UL508A standards. The role involves day‑to‑day panel assembly, interpreting schematics, troubleshooting, and ensuring high quality production outcomes.
Responsibilities
Assemble and wire electrical control panels based on electrical schematics, blueprints, and engineering drawings
Perform component layout, mounting, wiring, soldering, and crimping
Ensure all panels meet UL508A standards and requirements
Perform quality control testing, troubleshooting, and point to point testing of completed panels
Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas and panels
Qualifications
Two to five years of experience in electrical control panel assembly and industrial wiring preferred
Proficient in reading electrical schematics, blueprints, and engineering drawings
Familiar with electrical tools including hand tools, power tools, and wire strippers
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Ability to work in a fast paced environment and stand for extended periods
Good communication and teamwork skills
