It is execution focused and tied to measurable engineering outcomes including:
Cycle-time reduction
BOM accuracy improvement
RFQ throughput efficiency
ERP readiness
You will work directly with Design Engineering, Procurement, Quality, Manufacturing, and Business Development to support a transition from reactive execution to structured, scalable technical leadership
90 Day Main Project (with other responsibilities, as determined):
Support the rollout of the Multi-Level BOM framework and Standard Product documentation to:
Reduce RFQ cycle time Improve BOM governance
Enable L1/L2/L3 quoting tool accuracy to
Prepare engineering deliverables for ERP integration
Phase 01, Assessment & Structuring:
Map current L1/L2L3 RFQ workflows and engineering touchpoints
Analyze BOM inconsistencies across standard product lines
Support normalization of product inputs for quoting tool development
Assist in documenting Pre-PO and Post-PO engineering packages
Participate in engineering dashboard tracking (TAT, RFI rate, throughput)
Phase 02, Build & Implement:
Assist in building standardized multi-level BOM templates
Support data normalization for $/MW quoting tool inputs
Validate part number governance to prevent redundant SKU creation
Support implementation of configurability principles in CAD models
Assist in testing BOM-to-quote alignment
Phase 03, Validate & Process Control:
Run variance testing between historical quotes and normalized BOM outputs
Support reduction of quoting variance from ~8% toward 3% target
Document engineering release workflow improvements
Assist in preparing deliverables for ERP/CPQ readiness
Present final findings to Engineering Leadership
Deliverables:
RFQ Cycle-Time Reduction Impact Report
BOM Accuracy & Revision Governance Summary
ERP Engineering Readiness Package
Executive Presentation
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in gathering and documenting business requirements from stakeholders.
Support data migration activities including data cleansing, validation, and mapping.
Participate in system testing, including creating test scripts and logging issues.
Help prepare user documentation and training materials.
Assist in development and validation of Multi-Level BOM structures; Support standard product documentation build-out (1741 roadmap)
Conduct engineering data analysis to improve RFQ throughput
Participate in design reviews and DFM/DFS alignment; Assist in cost modeling and quoting tool normalization
Support engineering dashboard reporting and visibility systems
