Job Overview
We are seeking a talented individual to join our Specialty Lines (Kidnap & Ransom) team at Marsh. This hybrid role, based in New York City and Bethesda, requires presence in the office at least three days a week.
Responsibilities
Underwrite and manage a national portfolio of new and renewal Kidnap & Ransom business.
Meet or exceed production, retention, and profitability targets.
Drive profitable growth through disciplined risk selection, pricing, and portfolio management strategies.
Prepare and present underwriting referrals with supporting analysis to internal and external stakeholders.
Negotiate terms and conditions using approved underwriting guidelines and rating methodologies.
Build, develop, and maintain strong relationships with broker partners.
Qualifications
10+ years of underwriting experience, preferably in Kidnap & Ransom, Political Risk, or Specialty Lines.
Proven track record of managing and growing a profitable underwriting portfolio.
Strong technical underwriting, risk assessment, and pricing skills.
Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively and make sound underwriting decisions within delegated authority.
Preferred Attributes
Established broker relationships and strong market presence.
Experience mentoring or leading junior team members.
Excellent communication, relationship management, and presentation skills.
