Landscape Architect

We are seeking a talented and motivated Landscape Architect to lead the design and development of engaging, functional, and sustainable outdoor environments. This role blends creative vision with technical expertise, offering the opportunity to contribute to meaningful land development projects while mentoring junior designers and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

What You’ll Do
Design & Project Leadership

Create innovative, functional landscape designs that enhance usability, aesthetics, and environmental performance

Lead site design efforts, including site layout, grading concepts, planting plans, and integration with surrounding contexts

Incorporate site and landscape lighting to improve safety, orientation, and visual appeal

Contribute design expertise across a variety of land development and site design projects

Mentorship & Collaboration

Mentor and guide junior staff, providing technical direction, design feedback, and professional development support

Collaborate closely with engineers, planners, and other design professionals to ensure cohesive and well‑coordinated projects

Participate in design reviews and uphold consistent, high‑quality standards across deliverables

Technical Execution

Prepare, review, and refine landscape and site drawings using AutoCAD and Civil 3D

Ensure designs meet project goals, regulatory requirements, and applicable standards

Support project documentation through all phases of design and development

What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture

Professional Landscape Architect (PLA) license

Proven experience in landscape and site design for land development projects

Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D

Demonstrated experience mentoring or overseeing junior staff

Solid understanding of land development processes and site coordination

Effective communication skills for guiding teams and coordinating with stakeholders

Work Environment & Culture
This role is based in a professional design and engineering setting, combining focused design work with collaborative project coordination. Daily work involves extensive use of AutoCAD and Civil 3D, ongoing design dialogue with project teams, and opportunities to share knowledge and mentor emerging talent.

Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Albany, NY.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00/hr.
